Post-Production Updates Are A-Comin’!

During last week’s Town Meeting, we announced some changes to the way production updates would be communicated. In short:

- We will provide a date estimate only when full production has begun.

- We will send confirmation e-mails and have SKU (color/version) selection only when the product is on hand.

- We will provide a full production report on each post-threshold product every three weeks.

Click N Cook: The Essential (Now More Compact) Utensil

In an effort to make the Click n Cook the best essential utensil money can buy, our designers recently set about redesigning the base of the product to make it more compact and space-saving. Behold the results!

Some of our team members are now in China finalizing the production schedule for this and other Quirky products. A design timeline will be posted soon!

UPDATE: 08/06

Some Quirks expressed concerns about the ability to clean the Click n Cook base. Don’t worry — our designers thought of everything! Just pop off the top of the base and remove the inner slot structure (internally dubbed the “Sydney Opera House” — QDS’s design inspiration!) to quickly and easily clean the product. Photos below:

Click n Cook Hits Threshold!

It’s official — Click n Cook just became Quirky’s 15th product to hit threshold!

We’ve been working on CnC in-house since it passed the 65 percent threshold mark, which means we’re ready to move right along into production thanks to a big distributor order that came through this morning.

This is particularly great news for all the community members that influenced this product. Since Click n Cook was launched before our 30% direct-10% indirect sale influence split went into effect, we’ll be sharing 30 percent of ALL THIS PRODUCT’S REVENUE, direct or indirect, with the community!

A big congrats to ideator Fred Ende and his darling wife Laurie, as well as to all of the Quirky community members who rallied around CnC. It’s because of their dedication and creative promotional efforts that we’re able to manufacture yet another hit product. Rock!

Click ‘N Cook Product Research, Round 2

By popular demand, we’ve decided to add an unprecedented second product research phase to the development cycle for the Click ‘N Cook, the modular kitchen utensil originally proposed as the Super Spatula by community member Fred Ende.

As our team works to finalize the Click ‘N Cook’s “Rolodex” design, we wanted to gather more of your thoughts and opinions on this product’s form, function, and storage. We have compiled a list of survey questions, and we hope that your answers will help guide us as we make decisions about the Click ‘N Cook’s functionality.

Moving forward, we hope that polling the community on questions like these will help you all feel more involved in the process that occurs between the industrial design vote and the final design render.
