Paper towels are a mainstay in most households. But holding and storing bulky rolls can get tricky. It’s time for the Quirky community to step in.

Let’s come up with an innovative take on the paper towel holder.

In this project, we want to explore different modifications on a very simple product. We can look at a couple of areas, to start:

    - Where do people want to store their paper towel rolls?

    - When you ship towel holders, you end up shipping a lot of air. How can we make more efficient use of design and materials?

    - Allowing the user to easily tear off a piece of paper without unraveling the roll is really important in this market. How can we bring fresh innovation to this function?

Note: There are a lot of cool products out there, and a tricky IP landscape. Don’t forget to do your research to make sure your great idea isn’t already out there!

Submissions are free, and the deadline is April 11th, at 12 noon ET. Let’s extend our kitchenware line with something awesome.

Let’s talk about matches made in heaven. There’s peanut butter and jelly… Thelma and Louise… Jack and coke… rubber bands and hooks… Yes, you read that last one right. Bandits are now available for $9.99 for a pack of 20, with a threshold of 1000.

Bandits are rubber bands, with hooks.

Yup, it’s really that simple. But imagine the possibilities:

    - Fastening up pens or drawing supplies
    – Suspending excess cords from shelving
    – Hanging a bottle from a baby stroller
    – Hanging sunglasses from a rearview mirror
    – Tying up jewelry

    And the list goes on…

    Features:

    - Rubber elastic, with a hook made of glass-filled polypropylene.
    – Sold in a pack of 20.

    Thank You!

A ginormous THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by our lil’ shindig last night. We stayed past 2am wrapping thousands upon thousands of Wrapsters, and as a result, we’ll be able to fulfill our March orders without the additional packaging expense. A fun video (and better photos) of the festivities is on the way, but we didn’t want to delay telling you that you seriously, seriously rock. Like, big-time.

If you’re anything like us, you spent all winter curled up on the couch with popcorn and Mad Men DVDs. But now summer’s around the corner, and it’s time to get up and get active. There’s no better time to embrace a healthy lifestyle, and we’ve got the perfect brief to set things in motion.

Let’s design products that promote health and fitness.

We’re looking for product ideas that will help people live healthier, happier, more active lifestyles. Working out, playing sports, practicing yoga, indoor cycling on retro machines upon grass mats – it’s all fair game.

Submissions are free, and deadline is April 4th. Get moving!

Next Tuesday, the whole Quirky team will be throwing down to package, wrap, and ship off thousands of Wrapsters. If you’re in the New York area, we’d love your help!

Shoot us an RSVP at partay@quirky.com. We’ll let you know Monday if you’re in, and what time to stop by.
