Hey Quirks!

We’re back in business, Quirks, with lots of projects on the pipeline, including: Compostapalooza Industrial Design, Product 47 Product Research, Product 46 Industrial Design, Product 45 Tagline, and of course, this week’s evaluation round. Whew! Clock’s ticking, so log on and vote/rate/comment to your heart’s content.

Speaking of rating, did you know that rating ideas can now earn you influence? The more you rate, the more you earn, but please: help out our ideators by putting a little thought into your rating decisions. You don’t want to unnecessarily demoralize fellow community members, or give them false hope about their product idea’s viability, by rating randomly. 


And before we forget, a big "cheerio" to Gaz, our new industrial designer, who joins us from across the pond. This Brit brings with him over a decade of design experience, as well as a healthy obsession with his new home, Jersey City. We're lucky to have him!

Want to bring your idea to life but lacking home prototype materials? Don't fret: sites like Ponoko let you submit two-dimensional diagrams for shapes to be cut out of multiple materials. Thanks to community member Joe Colburn for the heads up!

QUIRK OF THE WEEK

Marc Zech

Why he rocks: With a fourth win under his belt for a teabag-friendly mug for Product 0046, Marc's ideas are slowly taking over the Quirky shop pages. His previous three products, the Scratch-n-Scroll, Split Stick and Cable Caps, put the "fun" in functional and inspired fellow Quirks to greater heights. Three cheers for Marc (or should we make that four?)!
