First There Was An iPad Case… Now We’re Making
An iPad Lap Desk!

FROM THE QUIRKY TEAM...

Hey Quirks!

We hope you’ve been dreaming of flowers and showers in preparation for next week’s epic 24-hour Quick & Quirky throwdown! One important announcement: WE WILL BE CHANGING THE DATE OF THE THROWDOWN TO TUESDAY, APRIL 13 -- not April 14 as originally announced. Plan is to get the ball rolling at 9 a.m. and work around the clock until the following morning. It'll be like those all-nighters in college -- but FUN!

If you’re not in the loop, Quick & Quirky is our (somewhat) monthly attempt to accomplish the impossible… develop an entire product in 24 hours. This month, we’ll be focusing on gardening and rainy weather-related products, with the theme “April Showers Bring May Flowers”. And as with all Quick & Quirky events, product idea submissions are FREE -- so no excuses, kay?

Tuesday night, we’ll also be opening the doors of our shining HQ to friends, family, and community members who want to witness the magic first-hand. If you’re in the New York area, feel free to stop by! We’ll be accepting visitors from 5 to 10 p.m. at 628 Broadway, Suite 300, third floor.

As always, feel free to contact us with questions, comments, and concerns -- we're here at questions@quirky.com.

PRODUCT UPDATES

CLOAK

We’ve received our first prototype, and we’re completing final engineering now that we have an iPad in-house. We’re fast-tracking this one and hope to have it ready to ship in 6-8 weeks.

WRAPSTER

Prototypes are in, and they’re undergoing extensive user testing. We’ll update you on the results of our testing next week!

SPACE BAR

This product’s prototype also came in this week, and boy was it heavy! There’s a ton of metal and cost involved, and we’re trying to figure out a way to manufacture it more efficiently.

Don't name your own product. You'll get a chance to do this later and get community input. In the earlier stages of development, keep your titles descriptive and illustrative of the purposes and advantages of selecting your idea.

USER OF THE WEEK

Austin Kerr-Valentic

Why he rocks: Austin used his social media expertise to help us out tremendously with our Great Facebook/Twitter Fan/Follower Drive last week. Not only was he a retweeting machine, but he also suggested our page to literally hundreds of his Facebook friends. Thanks a bunch, “Quirky Austin”!
