As we mentioned a few posts ago, we’ll be shifting from written production reports to taped ones. Check out the latest on Pivot Power from Jordan and the QDS designers.
Highlights:
- We’ve gone back to the drawing board after realizing the internals of the first Pivot Power design were way too complicated.
- We’ve been working with overseas engineers and a great factory to figure out a better way to make Pivot Power work.
- On November 10, we established a 90-day timeline to get this done. Engineering is now finished, and we’re about to open tooling on the product.
- We should be seeing first shots from the tool in the next month.

any chance we can see some of the sketches from the design process to get an idea of what the changes are? sorry you guys had to go back to the drawing board, but hopefully it makes for an even better product.

I commend you for catching it early(prior to tooling) and preventing a very expensive error. It’s not always easy to make the call. Good job.

Brian – the changes are mostly to the guts of the Pivot Power, no significant cosmetic changes were made, so theres not much in the way of sketches to show at this time. When there are visuals, we’ll make sure we incorporate them into the videos.

Maybe go nuts and throw open a color round for PP since it is not really decided and the emerging products might be better integrated if they “follow” that sure to be successful product’s lead. I’ll be sure @Rowan is aware that you did right by him/her by including the text bullet points with this video. Well done. More credit in the karma bank for the Q.

Jordan: ahhh, good to hear. I agree it would be interesting to see a new influence round for the product color and finish choice now that you have the new design phases in place. It might also spark some renewed interest from the community, along with some new sales?
