Have a great idea, but lack the $99 to submit it to Quirky? Well, the days of forking over big bucks to give your product a chance to be produced are long gone.
That’s right, as we announced in last week’s Town Meeting, we’re slashing the submission fee for new product ideas from $99 to just $10, starting with submissions for Product 0059.
“But wait!” you say. “Why would Quirky go and do something doggone crazy like that?”
The answer is simple. We are in the business of bringing the best product ideas to market, and we realized that the $99 fee was getting in the way of surfacing those ideas. We have high hopes that this price cut will increase both the quantity and quality of ideas submitted.
And that’s not the only change. You’ll also note that this week you’ll have not two, but NINE days for product evaluation. That’s a full additional week to vote, rate, and comment on all the great ideas in the running to be Quirky’s next product.
Remember: we’re counting on you to help us identify this week’s top 5 ideas. Don’t let us down; vote for what you truly believe are the best product ideas.

Any rebates? I plunked $200 on my failed submissions.

How much are resubmissions?

daniel – probably not, but if you submit 5 more ideas your average submission cost is only $35, not too bad.

@Dan: Sorry, no refunds.
@Ken: Same — $10!

I won’t complain – but I wonder how in God’s green earth staff is going to review and the community evaluate three to four hundred submissions and pick one or two from that pile on an almost weekly basis. I dont think reducing the fee is necessarily going to result in better submissions, just a whole lot more of dubious ones.

I think the timer of when the product submission will end disappeared. I thought it was pretty useful information.

I think the timer of when the product submission will end disappeared. I thought it was pretty useful information. Right now, it just says: Only 0 days left, but no time.
