Hey great for Michael, quirky owes him $18,000. I think Quirky owes preorders free shipping and an apology for the huge mistakes made at their consumer end. Flame me up if you must but this process has been an epic consumer FAIL!

Preorders did have free shipping. Shipping charges on pre-orders only started with Pivot Power.

Sorry

Wow, that was a pretty lame apology. If I didn’t know better I would say that was insincere.

@Cody,
Well if that’s the case then Quirky really likes screwing with me…my order page shows $5.99 for shipping on the pre order price…are you saying this as a free shipping cloak preorder consumer or is this an assumption?
@Ben K
I am too…you guys need to figure out if you want to be only a design house isolated from the consumer or a full service soup to nuts consumer direct sale product company. You gotta fix your consumer side, right now it’s horribly lacking.
@Ben D
Agree completely…it’s very clear who quirky is focusing on…I’ll give you a hint, its not the consumer.

Really guys? Really? You’re complaining about them taking the time to make the product better?
I mean hey, if you want something that won’t have perfect quality or looks like everything else on the market made with cheap materials, I’d like to invite you to waddle on down to your nearest Best Buy, Future Shop, Radio Shack, or any other electronics store you can think of and just grab something off the shelf. You’ll be the talk of the town with your case that everyone else owns and you’ll be so satisfied when it falls apart after 5 months but what will matter is you totally stuck it to Quirky and told them to shove their standards and low tolerance for imperfections. Also, what company would take the time to email you several times over to keep you abreast of what’s going on? 99% of other companies would simply just push back the shipping date and direct you to some lame customer service number where you’ll get a script read by someone that doesn’t care about you, the product, or the company they’re working for.
Also, as if you’re complaining about the whole $5.99 for shipping. I paid over twice that (since I live in Canada) and I don’t feel the need to whine anywhere near as much as you do. You guys seriously need to lighten up and learn to appreciate when you’re getting a better product in exchange for a bit more time.

I think you guys may be misunderstood on the Presale shipping price. Which is understandable if you are not familiar with the Quirky model and how stuff works. Right now the product is not in presale. The product was in presale before it entered the manufacturing stage, which during that time, did not have shipping charges. Once the product reached threshold (a number set by Quirky, to begin production) shipping charges started being applied. The cloak was originally on sale for $42 (NOT the presale price) but due to retailers wanting the MSRP increased the price was changed to what it is now, $54.99.
I’m not making an assumption nor am I a consumer of the Cloak product.

Why was it an epic fail? Because you couldn’t have it RIGHT NOW as soon as you saw it a few months ago? That’s the problem with Generation NOW. So if you had gotten it back then and gotten a piece of $hit you would have been pissed off. Instead you had to wait for a FINISHED product.
Crybabies.
