Design team here. For Twice, we’re looking at designing a product with a somewhat high-end aesthetic, with dual chambers (hence the name). Like with most of our other products, we’re aiming to create a design driven by geometric forms. A couple things to keep in mind while submitting and voting on logo designs this weekend.

    See ya Monday!

    Tape Stamp-A-Rama

    By brian at 4:55 pm

So the Tape Stamp is still under construction — we’re fine-tuning everything from the internal mechanism to the exterior form. As you can see above we are exploring many different form/layout options. With this project our design team is grappling with the aesthetics/ergonomics concurrently with our engineers, who are making sure the mechanism works at an appropriate size. This project is a challenging one and day by day we’re getting closer to making it a reality. It may be a little longer than expected, but we want to make sure we can get this right before we put it up for pre-sales!

Until today, many Quirks were left clueless when it came to cleaning their Cloaks. Yes it is one of the few products on the market made from hearty non-slip rubber. Yes black is notoriously known to proudly display any imperfection. But this is the Cloak, we’re talking about–the much anticipated, brand spankin’ new, best iPad case ever. Something had to be done about this messy situation.

Community Intern to the rescue! In the past 24 hours, I’ve been on a quest to find a quick and easy solution. I tested a rag and multi-purpose cleaner, (’twas too soapy), Clorox wipes (left behind too much residue), Windex (there’s a reason it’s made for glass), and even baby wipes (no comment) with no prevail. I also trued running the Cloak under lukewarm water, without the iPad in it, of course, for somewhat satisfactory results but I refused to settle. Finally I discovered Pledge Multi-Surface Wipes. The wax-free formula in this multi-surface cleaner wiped away dust and dirt without leaving any residue build-up behind.

Bottom line: If you’re willing to shell out a few bucks at the corner drugstore, go ahead and Pledge your allegiance now. Otherwise, as I found in my most recent experiment, a damp textured sponge works quite well too.

Stay quirky and keep your Cloaks clean. Over and out!

We’ve been sending your products around the world for some time now, and this week, things just go even more awesome’er!

Our Hong Kong warehouse is all set up! We are now strategically located to consolidate inventory from dozens of factories and ship products efficiently around the world while keeping costs down for our global partners. The warehouse hit the ground running this week and is helping us fulfill orders for distributors in Korea, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Israel, Thailand, Philippines, UK, Germany and more. With logistics operations set up in the US and HK we can better serve any market.

We are getting Quirky samples in front of some great partners in many more locations around the world. With samples in hand, our distributors can set up meetings with retailers and start sending us those bulk orders we all love so much.

We have a great brand, an amazing community, outstanding global logistics, and our product line up is getting stronger by the minute in multiple product categories. The list goes on. All of these strengths make life great for distributors. Soon enough we’ll be announcing the next exclusive Quirky distributor. Any leads?

    We’re wrapping this project up!

(Note Nikki’s epic victory dance around minute 1:06)

UPDATE: Our warehouse friends were able to ship out more than 500 Cloak packages in just one day. From here on out it should be smooth sailing! :)

Business woman, entrepeneur, and all-around standup gal, Andrea Zabinski has been sharing her sales and marketing know-how since joining Quirky way back in November. She is always sharing ways to promote Quirky on and off the site. Which makes sense since she has earned influence on so many products! But it’s not just about the profits for Andrea. She cares about what we do here at Quirky and shows it with her cheerful attitude and eagerness to tell all her friends, family, and business contacts about us.

    Rock on, Andrea!
