I've designed cell phones in the past and the glossy is the store but does not maintain customer satisfaction. Go with Soft Touch.

While I personally like the gloss with iphone cases, I think soft touch is better. I think the gloss would cause a glare with the flash.

Actually, the soft touch is much closer to the Apple aesthetic… compare it to the plastic on the first aluminum iMacs or the black part of the original iPhone… or even the black MacBook. The only place I've seen piano black finishes like this would be some Toshiba products or the occasional flat panel TV. The iPhone itself has a bit of a polish… but that's half the reason you're putting a case on it.

I vote for soft touch for both form and function reasons.
