So, it’s getting to be time to ship product, which means it’s time for you guys to start earning money. We’ve updated our payment system so it’s far easier and more efficient for you all to receive your earnings. Here’s how it all works:
As soon as you earn 75 dollars (you can view this from your payments/moneys tab in your profile) we will ask you to fill out your payment profile. Your payment profile will include info such as your mailing address (where you would like to receive your checks). Keep in mind this payment profile page is an SSL, secure, and encryped page AVAILABLE TO NO ONE except our finance and wire department.
If you are a US citizen and you have a US bank account:
You have the option of receiving your payments via check or ACH. We will mail your check to you and obviously pay for the postage. ACH is a direct transfer to your bank account. Think – direct deposit at work. (Only this is direct deposit from quirky.)
If you are NOT a US citizen:
You have the option of receiving your payments via check (which we will mail to you and pay for the mailing fee ourselves) or if you’d like the money immediately we can arrange that this money be wired to you (the small wire fee will come out of your earnings).
Some other things to note:
1. Once you earn 600 dollars, we will arrange for tax info to be received. This will NOT be done on our website or on your payment profile page (for obvious security reasons) but will be done offline – either by phone or by snail mail.
2. You can request your withdrawl any time there is 75 dollars or more in your account but not more than one request for withdrawl per week.
3. We will process all withdrawl requests within 72 hours of receiving them. (aka your check will be cut within 72 hours of you requesting it or your money will be directly deposited within 72 hours after requesting it).
4. There is no limit to how much you can withdraw at any period as long as you have at least 75 dollars (all you x-namethisers will be happy to hear that one!)
To ease your curiousity (we know you are all wondering why we got rid of the Payoneer cards?):
– well for one, we know the 200 dollar limit was a matter of utter annoyance to you all
– and more importanlty, from the business side of things, we have found that this route is far more sustainable. This route does not include fees, holding companies, and we are pleased to say that the money will go straight form us to you rather than through any middle man or woman. Yeah, so thats right, you’ll get your money far more efficiently!
Of course, we’ve got ol’ faithful tinydino ready to answer any questions you’ve got. So go bother tinydino@quirky.com if you need anything or have any questions!

So the pre-Quirky earnings will be paid out as per this announcement as well?
jeffscholen | 09/28/2009 10:44 PM
Thank YOU! This is a much better system.

“x-namethisers”?
–Does this mean namethis is gone forever?
shawnee | 09/30/2009 6:47 PM
Hmm . . . this is the first I’ve heard of the getting rid of Payoneer cards. Does this mean that the $ we’re owed (“we” being those of us who are owed money from namethis) won’t be paid out via Payoneer? When and how might these earnings be received? I think it’s probably an issue of ethics for you folks to pay those of us who have been patiently waiting and who are long overdue *before* your start doiling out cash to these nice quirksters.

Shawnee- These are two seperate businesses. Kluster’s issues do not at all effect quirky.
quirky is poised to pay out earned and available revenue immediately, for work done on the site.
The kluster issues remain unresolved. However there is a possible acquisition on the table which should clear things up for all involved. *fingers crossed*
but to re-iterate, quirky is a separate business, and klusters liabilities do not exist here.

@Ben – According to the Kluster website, both Quirky and namethis are “kluster labs” and appear side-by-side on this page: http://www.kluster.com/buy/labs. So isn’t kluster the “parent” company for both? Can somebody clarify the organization of the organization?
And in this “possible acquisition” were the non-payments to namethis members a consideration?

Quirky is a separate entity incorporated in Delaware. Kluster is a separate entity incorporated in Delaware and licensed to do business in New York. Quirky doesn’t appear to be licensed as a foreign corporation in New York, at least under the name “Quirky.”
Your right to be paid is about the same at Quirky as it was at namethis:
“Quirky may distribute or allocate Influence among new and existing Users, at its sole and absolute discretion. Regardless of terminology used in the Site or otherwise, Influence represents a limited license right governed solely under the terms of this Agreement, and are not redeemable for any sum of money or monetary value from Quirky or any other Person, at any time. You agree that Quirky has the absolute right to manage, regulate, control, modify and/or eliminate Influence, collectively or individually, as it sees fit in its sole discretion…”

No more Payoneer cards? You might want to update your FAQ page. It still says:
My card isn’t loading, what gives?
Yeah, sometimes that happens. Drop us a line at tinydino@quirkyinc.com and we’ll see what we can do. Though sometimes it’s bigger than us, and you may need to contact Payoneer directly…

@s thanks for the note – we’ve got an updated FAQ ready to go… should be uploaded very soon! thanks again for the heads up.

@Ben Kaufman You have never explained the real situation fully to the users on NameThis. Your blog posts on the Klusterfck page provide ample evidence not of progress, but of the fact nobody can ever trust your word. This is an absolute disgrace. Personally, I can’t wait to be paid what I’m owed on NameThis so I will never have to deal with you and your company.

During the heyday of Namethis and in all the
publicity about namethis and Kluster, Ben is always featured as the man-in-charge! Then suddenly when it came time to pay people, he mentions all the decisions are being made by “the investors.” It’s this slick-talk that caused me to stop contributing to namethis many many moons ago.
Read the Quirky “legal stuff” and understand what you are agreeing to when you contribute to this site. Ben seems to be able to separate himself from his moral duty to others very easily. The “leagl stuff” you are agreeing to makes it very easy for him to not pay anyone one cent for their products and ideas.

THE SELECTION, DEVELOPMENT, MANUFACTURE AND SALE OF ANY PRODUCT IDEA IS SUBJECT TO THE COMPANY’S SOLE AND ABSOLUTE DISCRETION AND THE COMPANY RESERVES THE RIGHT, FOR ANY OR NO REASON, TO (I) REJECT ANY SUBMITTED PRODUCT IDEA, (II) REFUSE TO POST ANY SUBMITTED PRODUCT IDEA TO THE SITE, (III) TERMINATE THE DEVELOPMENT OR ANY PHASE RELATED TO A PRODUCT IDEA, (IV) TERMINATE THE SALE AND OR MANUFACTURE OF ANY COMMERCIALIZED PRODUCT RELATED TO ANY PRODUCT IDEA, OR (V) SELL OR LICENSE A PRODUCT IDEA, AND/OR ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RELATED THERETO, TO ANY THIRD PARTY.
So, basically, just hand over your killer product idea to Ben and Quirky so they can just sell it to a third party and they will be under no obligation whatsoever to pay you a cent.

The “200 dollar limit was a matter of utter annoyance to you all”? That would have been fine if there was actually money to back it up.
Ben, your last post on the kluster blog – http://www.klusterfck.com – (which, by the way, can no longer be accessed from the namethis site, said you would keep us posted. There has been no update from you on that site in almost TWO MONTHS.
Just curious, but would you be willing to divulge just how much money is owed to the namethis community? And what’s the likelihood of your “investors” doing the right thing and paying up?

Is anyone following the story of the 20-year-old young woman working her fourth day on the job in Baghdad for contractor Halliburton/KBR in 2005? She was drugged and gang raped by seven U.S contractors and held captive by two KBR guards in a shipping container. But more than four years after the alleged crimes occurred, she is still waiting for her day in court because when she signed her employment contract, she lost her rights to a jury trial and, instead, was forced into having her claims decided through secret, binding arbitration.
Is anyone following any of the news about banks, insurance companies, investment firms and what they have gotten away with? Do you really think that a man that has already taken steps to divorce himself from his obligations at one of his companies is now looking out for your interest with his new company? Read your contract!

We all do not know what exactly happening behind the screen in namethis
But we must know progress of card load issue. Because our hard work and money is involved
This is really not good that we have no update for namethis on namethis website from company official.
